Saturday, October 31st, 2009

radioguy078 asked:

I know they can when the phone is turned on….

But what about if the Battery is Dead or the Phone is turned off?

Like say my phone is turned off and dead somewhere and I call it, during that call can the cell phone company trace the call to where my cell phone might be?

Has anyone tried to use a cell phone on a airplane during a flight?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

rlkeebler asked:

I have flown several times since 9/11. Twice going to and from New York and Oregon and several flights to Arizona to Oregon and back. In each flight I would turn on my cell phone to see if I could get a connection. I always got no service available to apear on my sceen.
About a year ago I read on the internet that in order for people to use cell phones on flying aircraft the airplanes would need to have a special antenna installed. This has not begun to happen yet.
So my question would be. If you can not get service on your cell phone while flying in an airplane. On 9/11 how did the people on board those doomed aicraft manage to use their cell phone to call out to their loved ones? I’m not counting the people who used the available at great cost aircraft phones just the ones who are said to have used their cell phones.
Just one of the holes in the vast 9/11 story.

When activating a prepaid cellphone do they ask for a name and address?

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Barkley Hound asked:

I have always wondered about a prepaid cellphone’s phone number. Is activation required and a number assigned at that time? When activating do you choose a local area for the number? Do they ask for a name and address? If a foreign tourist buys one and travels all over the country is the phone number based on where they purchase it or do they have a choice? Do all prepaid cellphone have free long distance and roaming? Anything else people should know about them? This is just for my knowledge so I can answer other people’s questions.

At what age should pre-pubescent girls start wearing proper swimsuits which cover their breasts?

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Kate48 asked:

I met a friend at the beach and was surprised to learn that her daughter still swam topless at the age of 12. She feels there is nothing wrong, as the child is still pre-pubescent. However, I feel that in a public tourist attraction like the beach, a girl above the age of 10 should not go topless. Since my daughter was 10, I refused to let her walk about without a shirt or reveal her breasts anywhere except at home or in the close neighbourhood. What is your opinion?

What cell phone has the easiest to read display outdoors in daylight?

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

1Curmudgeon asked:

I’m an old guy and am supposed to have very good vision, but still I have serious trouble reading any LCD display in daylight. I’ve yet to find any reviews that rate the daylight readability of cell phone displays. So, if there are such reviews, I’d like to know where to find them. Otherwise, I’d be happy knowing about similiar personal experiences that might help me find the right cell phone. I’m not looking for anything but basic features.
